Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Linwood Studios (ABN 87 940 501 357) ("we", "us") is a small website development studio based in Melbourne, Victoria. Linwood Studios is a registered business name, operated by a sole trader. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles as a matter of good practice. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Enquiries: when you use our enquiry form, email us or message us on Instagram, we receive the details you give us, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, a link to your business listing or website, and your message.
- Client work: if you become a client, we receive the business content you send us (for example text, logos, photos and account access you choose to give us) and basic billing details.
- Website data: our hosting provider may record standard technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this website.
Our enquiry form
When you submit the enquiry form on this website, your details are stored by our website host, Netlify, and a copy is emailed to our Gmail inbox so we can reply. The form includes a hidden spam-protection field. We only use what you send to reply to your enquiry, prepare a concept or quote you asked for, and keep a record of our conversation. We delete form submissions from Netlify once we no longer need them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to you, to provide and invoice our services, to keep business records we're required to keep, and to improve our services. We don't sell or rent your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run our business: our website host (Netlify, which receives enquiry form submissions), our email provider (Google Gmail), Instagram (if you message us there) and, for client projects, the platforms you choose (for example your hosting, domain or online store provider). Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We only share what's needed for them to provide their service. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Business contact emails
We sometimes email businesses at their publicly listed business email address about our services. Every such email identifies us and includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and we honour unsubscribe requests promptly, in line with the Spam Act 2003. If you ask us not to contact you, we keep your address on a do-not-contact list so we don't email you again.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep enquiries and client records only for as long as we need them for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete them.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing LinwoodStudiosTeam@gmail.com. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please email us first and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
